Inauguration  of President-Elect Barack Obama  

 

A church-sponsored trip has been planned to go to the inauguration. 

We will leave at 10 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 and return

late Tuesday, January 20, 2009.  Hotel accommodations are

four persons per room.  This trip is for Macedonia members only.  

 

Please note that extensive walking is involved

and we are not guaranteed a place to sit or stand. 

 

Please evaluate your personal health needs BEFORE you commit to this trip.

Sunday Morning Bible Study.  Conflict in the Community.  Galatians 2: 9-21

Monday

6:30 p.m.

All teachers of the Sunday morning Bible Study, week day Bible Studies,

and Nursery classes are asked to attend.

Wednesday

November 12

12 Noon

& 6:30 p.m.

Bible Study.  For the noon and 6:30 adult sessions, the focus will be I Samuel

Chapter 20.  Youth Bible Study will be held at 6:30 p.m., separate from the adults.

Thursday

November 13

6:30 p.m.

We will finish our study of "The Organic God" and introduce our next study that will

begin the second Thursday in January, 2009.  Also, plans for a Ladies Night Out will be made. 

The tentative date is Thursday, December 4, 2008.  Mark your calendar!!  Watch for details

and make plans to join us!!

November 15

9 a.m.

Women's Health Symposium:  Sponsored by our Health and Wellness Ministry:  Please join us 

on Saturday, November 15 at 9 a.m.  We will begin with a Heart-Healthy breakfast. 

Forums will include issues with women and blood pressure, diabetes, weight management,

stress and strokes.  Healthcare professionals will be on site to answer your questions.  Demos

and screenings will be available.  

Sister Sherma Svitzer is the coordinator.

4 p.m.

Macedonia will conduct the Pastor's Appreciation service at Touched by Faith Ministries

on Sunday, November 16 at 4 p.m. 

The Concert Choir will render the music.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new worship center will be held

Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 3 p.m.  If it rains, the ceremony will be held

at our present location.  Make plans to be a part of this historic moment for Macedonia.

 

Ministers and Deacons Union will be held in Burgaw on Saturday, November 29 at 10 a.m. at

the Middle District Missionary Baptist Association's headquarters building.
 
Ushers Union will be held Sunday, November 30 at 10 a.m. in Burgaw at

the Middle District Missionary Baptist Association's headquarters building. 

 

Youth Christmas Performance:  "Too-oo-oo-oo Busy", will be held Sunday, December 21 at 10 a.m. 

Twenty youth performers and six adults are needed.  We also need someone to help with props and costumes.

Battle of the Bands will be held in Atlanta, GA on January 24. 

Parents of youth who are interested in attending are asked to contact Sister Kenya Bethea for details.
 
The Broadway musical "The Color Purple" is on tour! 

We have tickets for Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the new Durham Arts Performing Arts Center

in Durham, North Carolina.  Call the office for details!

A WILLISTON ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP is available to any senior who has family that are graduates of Williston.  Sister Bethea has the details.

NURSERY TEACHERS are needed for third and fourth Sundays.  Please see Sister Kenya Bethea or Danielle Carr.

BIBLE STUDY is held every Wednesday at 12 noon and 6:30 p.m.  Youth Bible Study is held at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to join us!

MEMBERS:  Calling all Men, Women and Teens!  Volunteers are needed to assist with 8 a.m. parking.  If you are willing to help, please see Minister LeKeith Bufford.

Praise Dance Rehearsals.  Any youth (age 5 and up), teen or adult interested in participating is invited.  Teens interested in the Step Team should come during teen practice times.  Click here to access the schedule for 2008.

A list of available scholarships is available from Sister Kenya Bethea, our youth director.

YOUTH WORSHIP SERVICE is held every first Sunday for youth ages 12-18; and, every second, third and fifth Sunday for youth ages 5-11.

OVERCOMER'S GROUP is available for counseling every Monday night at 7 p.m. in the Library.  If you  need counseling and can't meet at this time, please contact Sister Sadie Winfrey to schedule an appointment.

ATTENTION MEMBERS:  Volunteers are needed to read scripture during the 11 a.m. worship service.  If you are interested, please see Sister Wilma Brown.

DVDs and CDs of our worship services are available.  CDs are $5 and DVDs are $10.    If you wish to place an order, please click here.

 

A PRAYER REQUEST box is located in the vestibule.  The requests will be prayed for by the Intercessory prayer group.

 

NURSERY CARE is available for children 5 years of age and younger during our 11 a.m. worship service and during our Wednesday evening Bible Study.  Please be sure to leave any supplies (diapers, wipes, special snacks) your child may need during his or her stay in the nursery.  If you have questions, please contact Sister Kenya Bethea, our Youth director.  Starting Sunday, May 4th, nursery services will be available for children aged 10 months to 4 years old.
