MISSIONARY is a term given to a Christian messenger who has a message from God and is sent forth by divine authority for the definite purpose of evangelism. To evangelize means to present the gospel across national, cultural, or religious lines for the conversion of the unbeliever or non-believer so he or she may become a believer in Jesus Christ. The word ‘missionary’ comes from the Latin word “mitto” which means “I send” and is related to the New Testament “apostello”which means “to send”

As members of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, we are missionaries because we have been sent Biblically to preach the gospel and to help those who are in need, spiritually, physically, emotionally and socially. We are composed of a senior and youth department. The missionary circle is an organized auxiliary of the church with the responsibility of learning and teaching how to win the lost to Christ. It helps the church teach missions. Some ways this is done are by:

  • Studying the Bible as the basic guide for missions.
  • Reading missionary books and other Christian literature for further clarification.
  • Stewardship – being a trustee of our lives, time, talents and resources.
  • Edification to Christ through personal service to others at home and abroad.
  • Visitation to the sick, shut-in, imprisoned, backslider, unsaved or unchurched.
  • Sharing our resources with the foreign fields, and those who service our country.
The Senior Department projects:
  • Annual Self-Denial Month during June for the cause of State Missions
  • Thanksgiving Baskets / Fruit Baskets
  • Annual Missionary Candlelight Service
Meetings: Every first Saturday at 10am
Our annual Missions Institute convened February 2007. Macedonia won the banner for having the highest attendance. Some members dressed for heritage day.
