Our Purpose and Mission
To provide a ministry for the women of Macedonia and the community that is focused on spiritual enrichment, growth, prayer and faith without taking participation away from the present Ministries of Macedonia.
Coordinator: Sandra Lewis
Our Mission
To provide single (primarily) members of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church true Biblical fellowship and opportunities to unite with other believers.
Goals
To create a unique community and network of support for members
To provide two weekend programs a month where members can engage in healthy spiritual, physical and emotional activities as well as biblical workshops
To have members complete one mission or service project per month
Our ministry is named in memory of the late Reverend Angela Rich. Reverend Rich was the catalyst for getting the Singles Ministry started at Macedonia. She passed on April 6, 2008.
Scripture Reference: Acts 2:42 - 47 (NIV)
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Our Mission
To assist individuals with varying concerns or problems, embracing the whole person - spirit, mind and body (I Thessalonians 5:23)and provide resources to youth, adults, senior citizens and families within the church and community.

The most important role of the choir is to provide a spiritual setting for the worshippers. The opening song should set in motion transference of the mind-set of those in the sanctuary. It should lift our hearts and minds out of self and point the way to God the Father. So many worshippers come to service heavy laden with numerous problems and concerns. They need a sanctuary to let go of these internal thoughts and prepare their hearts to accept the word of God. Worship service music should always lift hearts and minds toward God in a closer relationship with Him.
Remember that worship is the celebration of the mighty acts of God. Therefore, the music should point to and bring into remembrance what God has done through His Son, Jesus the Christ, and His continuing presence through the work and power of the Holy Spirit.

Our Music Ministry is coordinated by Pastor Henry and our Minister of Music, Brother Jerry Oates.
Brother Oates is a native of Faison, North Carolina and has been involved in the ministry of music from a very young age. He has worked with various choirs and churches in Wayne, Duplin, and New Hanover Counties since the age of twelve. His love of music began at his family’s church, Holy Temple United Holy Church in Calypso, North Carolina. From there, he served with churches in Faison, Goldsboro and Mount Olive, North Carolina.
Brother Oates moved to Wilmington in 1991 to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington under a full academic scholarship. While there, he served as a musician for the UNC-W Gospel Choir and as a member of the UNC-W Concert choir. In addition, he served as Minister of Music for Warner Temple AME Zion church from 1992 until 2004 under the pastorate of Reverend Terry L. Jones, Sr.

The Praise Dancers serve to praise and worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through different forms of dance. The dancers consist of an adult and youth group. The youth also serve as a step team. Both groups perform at Macedonia and often participate in activities at various locations throughout the City and County
Prior dance experience is not necessary. Participants should be at least school age. We welcome anyone with the desire to learn and the desire to please God with their praise. Click here to view our 2008 Rehearsal schedule.
